Hoo boy I am bushed. Bullets and bed, ladies and gentlemen.

- Rolled my ass out of bed much later than I'd planned, but still got in the DW panel and got good seats thanks to Em and Rei being prepared and awesome. Ladies and gentlemen, I have pics of David Tennant and got to see a preview for Water of Mars and for the very last Tenth Doctor special. Donna returns, Wilf returns, Lucy returns, and HI THE MASTER MISSED YOU YOU CRAZY SON OF A GUN :D They showed the preview way at the beginning, and we were cheering so loud that David said we should see it again. "Roll the tape back!" So we did. All in all, the DW panel was just awesome, and while they said they were not doing a movie, they now know we're interested and might well consider it. :Db
- I LOVE SQUEAK SHE IS SO CUTE. She also got one of the illustrators for Runaways to sign the foot of her Old Lace plush. I has pics.
- Speaking of signatures, I ran into [info]_tonylee_ today, after carrying around my copy of The Forgotten for four days in the hopes I'd see him. (It was also the first time I'd found the IDW booth. Go figure.) He remembered me from Gallifrey! He signed my book! ...he made it out to Christine. Thank you, Tony.
- I have no idea how I missed the dice at the dealers' hall but I'd missed the dice until today. Strangely enough, I bought more dice for my parents than I did for me.
- The people at the Rosen Queen booth know me now. |D
- I GOT FREE BOOKS ON MY OWN MERIT TODAY I AM SO PROUD OF ME :D I actually managed to get my hands on Geektastic, which doesn't really come out yet and was signed yesterday, which I missed because yesterday was Holy Cow Panels Day. I went back to the booth, and the girl working there ninja'd me a copy off the display itself and gave it to me on the sly. Persistence gets you free hardcovers, evidently. :Db
- IIIIIIII got con crud. Flight home should be interesting.
- I lurve the Lynx and I lurve the Teg. They are so much fun to hang out with. :3

FINAL COUNT:
Bags of swag, full: 2 (how the hell am I going to take this home)
Hours of sleep, total: Less than thirty
Stayed in budget? No, but not too far over the mark
Places that ache: All of them
Times I screamed like a fangirl: Waaaaaaaay too many
Pictures taken: OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND
Would do it again? Hell yeah

And now I go to bed and organize stuff for tomorrow, whee~

SATURDAY IS ALWAYS INSANE

Way to be a team plater
More bulleted format yay!

- According to the getting jobs in video games panel this morning, to be a writer/editor I should keep writing and editing and keep a portfolio, maybe review games, etc.
- I never knew a Marvel panel could be so boring.
- GLEE. GLEE WAS INCREDIBLE. I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF SO HARD. Awesomeness includes Kanye, Finn's kill switch, "give them sex," absofrigginglute liars, and the cheerleading coach's absolute batshit insanity ("SEVENTEEN COPIES!") I cannot farking wait for this show to be going omg. Cannot wait.
- MYTHBUSTERS PANEL WHY DO YOU MOCK ME SO. Waited forever and couldn't get in.
- Same as Iron Man 2! |D
- Masquerade was on and off for me - there were some hysterical skits, and there was...well, then there was Costume 3. Duct tape dancing. Aaaaagh.
- RAINBOW BRIGHT!!!!!!!!
- The best part had to be just that half hour before the Masquerade when Sarah and I just derped around in the hall with my iPod and speakers. There was massive amounts of dancing and filming. Sarah does indeed know the choreography to Makes No Difference, and I have the video to prove it. :Db That was really the most fun I had today - just some time to hang out with friends and have a total blast. Yay con. :D

Tomorrow's the last day and the ridiculously early Doctor Who panel. *facepalm* WE'LL SEE HOW THIS ONE GOES, HUH? Yeeeeeeeeah lines!

COMIC CON DAY TWOOOOOO
01:00am 25/07/2009

Way to be a team plater
This shall also be in bulleted format because gorram I am once again exhausted and late to bed and I need to have LOTS OF ENERGY TOMORROW for I am cosplaying EBA to Sarah's Ouendan. There will be epic pictures, and there shall be somewhat humiliating video. |D

- Sarah is freaking awesome, by the way. Absofrigginglutely love her. :D
- I still can't play EBA in public. It's kind of humiliating. |D
- I MISSED THE BIG BANG THEORY PANEL D: Sarah and I got in line an hour early, and we waited in line for an hour and some change, and when we realized the panel had already started, we weren't even halfway through the line, and the con staff came by saying "anyone behind this point in the line looking for Big Bang Theory might as well leave; you aren't getting in"...well, we left. We were too late to make the 9 panel too, baww.
- I DID, HOWEVER, MAKE A PANEL WITH SQUEAK. We went to the Batman: the Brave and the Bold panel, in which they chatted with a bunch of the voice actors and debuted the musical episode (with Neil Patrick Harris as the special guest villain! That man can do no wrong, seriously). I laughed until I couldn't breathe. It was just about the best thing ever.
- Speaking of laughing until I couldn't breathe, we went to the Star Wars fan video awards panel. The winning video is absolutely hysterical, and the others are well worth a watch.
- Remind me to avoid the EA booth from now on.
- Bioshock 2 is freaking amazing. Evidently you play as a Big Daddy, which makes me squee.
- I need to get on the free book stuff. I would love reading material |D
- Those camera ninjas are <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/teohyc/3751368222/sizes/m>quick bastards</a>. Sarah and I are waiting in line for the Glee panel starting several hours beforehand, because we are bound and freaking determined to get into that panel and we are not making today's mistake again. You can expect photo and video dumps after the con is over sometime. SO YES. TOMORROW IS EBA DAY \o/

That is the closest you will ever hear to me dropping the fbomb outside fantastic frustration and anger, by the way. |D

COMIC CON DAY ONE, in convenient bulleted format because I am just bushed right now.

- Costume, Jen, was frigging fantastic. I got a ton of compliments on it, even from people who have no idea who I was supposed to be. I also got stopped for quite a few pictures. That went well, even if the headband decided it didn't want to stay up and one of the straps on my leotard gave out. |D
- SPEAKING OF PICTURES. I am going to kill the next camera ninja I find. 8D I will totally pose for pictures, but taking them on the sly makes me want to take you out back and perform impromptu intestinal surgery with your camera as my only tool. Don't tempt me, jackass.
- For some reason, everyone's eyes went right to my hips while I wore this costume. I don't have a bloody clue why.
- THE LINE. FOR BADGES. WAS INSANE. I was standing in it with [info]ormery - we got there at about ten a.m. and got our badges just past noon. The thing even doubled back, so just when we thought we'd reached the end of the line, we turned a corner and just kept going. There were wails of agony (and some fantastic conversation once we got over that). I also managed to sunburn my shoulders. Good job, me. |D
- I FOUND THE MOST DISTURBING SHIRT EVER OMG. Of course, I now own it.
- The dealer's room/exhibition hall is like the size of a football field. HI, I'M HUGE, LOOK AT MY BOOTHS. There's a map of the sucker in the program guide, for which I am very grateful.
- I obviously need to arrive to panels more than thirty minutes before they start, or I am in for a world of hurt. I also need to bring more food.
- Professional writing panel wasn't really what I was looking for (it was more on fiction and selling your own stories and such than non, which is likely what I'm leaning towards) but it was absolutely hilarious and I did learn. I also got my question answered ("I can build worlds, but I can't create characters. Any tips?): Evidently I'm supposed to use pre-existing people (he used Sigourney Weaver as an example) and then Ctrl+F and change the names when I'm done. Um, with a few world tweaks, I could work a lot of the EBA fic I have planned into original (especially since I have to keep reminding myself what is and is not actual canon for that 'verse).
- [info]lynxgriffin has a lot of fangirls. I keep forgetting she's net famous. |D
- I WENT TO VIDEO GAMES LIVE. HOLY DANG THAT CONCERT IS AMAZING. Full orchestral live version of One Winged Angel YES PLEASE. And does anybody remember this guy?

HE WAS THERE. HE WAS AMAZING. HOLY COW.
- Hey [info]fullarmoredgg, did you know they're programming the PC port of RE5 to be in 3D? It looks fantastic. 8D
- [info]universejuice IS COMING TOMORROW I AM SO EXCITED 8D
- Aside from "I might get a prinny hat tomorrow," I don't think I have anything more to say about Thursday's Comic Con.

I might get a prinny hat tomorrow.

The obligatory OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING pre-con post
11:23pm 20/07/2009

Way to be a team plater
I've decided to forego my Bad Horse Singer costume. It wasn't complete, I won't be going to the showing anyway, and I'd rather not die of heat exhaustion in two out of three costumes (now it's only one out of two, and I'll be wearing the EBA getup all Saturday. The things I do for my fandom). I'm actually not regretting it.

What I am regretting is that my choreography is not done aghghghghgh. WHY. CAN I NOT. CHOREOGRAPH. THE FREAKING. BRIDGE. I'm good up until "Straaaangers~ Waaaaaaiting~" and then I freeze and go "oh dammit" and my self esteem issues (which rarely ever happen and are therefore nasty little buggers when they do) go "HA HA AND YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD BE AN AGENT"

If all else fails, I'm winging the sonofagun. NOT LIKE ANYONE CAN TELL. |D

...and then I'm putting it on YouTube for the close-knit and rather discerning EBA fandom to see. The closest verbal approximation to this one is a giant FFFFFFFFFFF

This, of course, will not stop me from doing it. I am flip-all insane that way.

...does anyone I'm going with have an iron of some sort? I doubt all my clothes are getting through this with no wrinkles, though I may just steam them in the bathroom while I'm showering.

And I am packing a ridiculous amount of snacks here. Hopefully everyone likes chocolate.

So yeah, I'm going to go flip the hell out and then hopefully get some sleep before I leave bright and early to head to LA. Good times, good times. Should be a blast~

I shall try to do LJ voice posts, but that may or may not happen. Either way, I'm going to be Twittering like mad - my moniker there is Kiaxet if y'all wish to follow. :3

Called dual hiatus today, and of course am posting more than ever. Why does that always happen when I call hiatus?

DC shirts are getting marathoned on Sunday. That iron and I are going to be real good friends if I have my way about it.

Shift today was a bit disappointing - nobody wants to sit on the patio when it's hot outside, and today it was hot outside. Les (my manager) told me he watched a few hostesses try to lead parties out on the patio, and they'd hit the doorway and turn around, refusing to sit there. Basically, everyone else got utterly swamped and my partner and I were twiddling our thumbs going, "Tables please :D" And I get to do it all again tomorrow, twice!

Even better, Les asked me tonight if I'd be willing to pick up a Sunday shift this week, since evidently he's having trouble getting Sunday nights covered. Sunday is the one day a week I request off because of church and because it's family day. "Les, I got my stitches out on Wednesday. I worked a double that day, a double yesterday, dinner tonight, and a double tomorrow." That's seven shifts in four days. 8D

"...oh. Enjoy your Sunday." So now I have con prep time, yaaaaay~

...I have two paychecks to pick up from work. Why have I not done this yet.

Best Buy somehow decided today would be a good day to send me a $20 gift certificate. Sadly but not surprisingly, my first thought was, "I wonder if they still carry EBA." Ladies and gentlemen, I don't even have a DS. There's something wrong up here. XD

And (because I'm blathering anyway) I've discovered that I really don't eat well while I'm at home - at least not dinner. I'm terrible with fixing myself meals when I come home from work, we've hit a dry spot so far as leftovers go, there's not a lot that will make a quick meal (and like I said, I hate fixing meals as it is), and there's virtually no instant meals in the house: no ramen (because I'm the only one who eats it), no Lean Cuisine (which I practically live off at college but there's no room in the freezer here), no pot pies (no freezer room)...basically, I come home and eat cereal or various odds and ends. I either need to start eating at work (which costs moneys, bawww) or convince Mom to get something I can make while braindead and bone tired.

By the way. Blip.fm. Attack of the Show promotes it as a sort of musical Twitter that links to your actual Twitter, your LJ, and just about everything else. Anybody want to join up with me?

AND FINALLY. I know I'm a few hours past the cutoff, but I do have to say it because she's awesome:

FIVE MINUTE ENTRY WHOO
11:41am 16/07/2009

Way to be a team plater
So I leave for a double shift in five minutes. |D Getting out some thoughts before then.

Stitches are out, but wearing a bandaid at work still weirds out my coworkers. Felicia's a bit squeamish, I've discovered. XD

Probably calling hiatus tonight in both RPs - sporadic posting but no promises. Con prep really needs to happen now that I'm stitchless, and I have a double today, dinner tomorrow, double Saturday, lunch Monday. Tshirts and choreo need to happen, and they won't happen with all that going on. |D

In other news and total whiplash, I'm looking for a smaller RP to join in a few months once DC is over. I want plot, but I also would like a slice of life aspect...basically, is there a game out there that's a good fit for an Agent or two? Sarah and I are thinking ahead.

AND NOW IT IS TIME FOR WORK AND SO I LEAVE.

First post of substance in foreeeeever
12:56am 05/07/2009

Way to be a team plater
I have five minutes before I'm technically supposed to be in bed and I still have not finished my glass of zin. Probably not gonna happen.

Work today was insane and I don't have the damndest clue as to why. It was absolutely dead during lunch and most of dinner, and then we got this pop from nowhere that lasted for a few hours. Given that yellow had already gone home, my partner and I wound up staying after red (the last cut section before closers go home) in order to do our sidework, yellow's sidework AGAIN (because we got tables in yellow section), and roll 100 silver apiece. Such is the woe of being in blue on a busy night.

I SAW TWO FIREWORKS ON THE WAY HOME. TWO. WHOO YEAH FOURTH OF JULY.

In other news, I've found out just why they're scheduling me so much. Evidently we rank servers based on an average of five criteria: PPA (how much we sell per person), GEM scores (how well we're scored on our online survey), Secret Shops (just what they sound like, probably getting phased out soon), Attitude (what it sounds like), and Reliability (what it- come on do I really need to say it). At the moment, I am tied for sixth place (technicall I'm in seventh because Amber Rose is before me alphabetically) out of thirty or forty servers. People with higher scores are obviously doing better and therefore get scheduled more.

I AM TOO GOOD AT MY JOB, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. THIS IS WHY I NO LONGER HAVE FREE TIME. OR SLEEP.

Most of my tables tonight were pretty good, though, and I walked away with about $70 in tips on $500 in sales, which is a better percentage than I've been making lately. Also, I have tomorrow off. My goal is to get work done on DC shirts. |D

AND HERE'S THE BIGASS LIST OF STUFF TO DO BEFORE COMIC CON, BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE I NEED ONE FOR SOME REASON.

- Finish shirts
- EBA routine (cut song, finish choreo, practice, quit changing the choreo dammit it's fine the way it is)
- EBA costume (microphone, hat)
- Bad Horse Singer costume (everything but the vest, oi)
- Find out if any other Singers will be there. Possibly meet with them.
- Flonne costume (leotard, earrings, find out how long shipping takes)
- Schedule (find out what panels are there, figure out which ones to attend)
- Sleep, because that sure as hell won't happen at the con 8D

...Yeah this has gone on far too long. My zin is gone. It's bedtime.

...I really miss my paid account. Icooooooons where did you go?

I had forgotten just how ridiculously awesome laser tag can be. I had forgotten how complex and intricate and fun Laser Quest's arena is. I had forgotten just how predatory and alive and utterly badass I feel with a gun in my hands and a target in my sights.

Or in the mirror, because that's how Laser Quest rolls. Multiple floors and smoke and grates and mirrors all over the place. It's incredible.

My roomie and I went laser tagging today, as you can likely tell, and I've discovered I've still got it (seventh in a game of eighteen, fourth in eleven). Considering I had to come up with my code name in five seconds or less because the door was closing, I'm particularly proud of it and the stats I garnered with it. Three guesses what it was - think fandom. XD

So yes, that was particularly epic today. Ren Faire tomorrow and pictures to ensue, yay!

...on a fandom note, choreography is about half done and JJF still leaves me in awe every time I watch it. I may have to rip the audio from that, because the cheering overlay with the music is incredible.
