...Let me back up.

I was having an incredible shift at work today - good pace, nice tables, whole nine yards - until I cleared that empanada plate. Brought it back to the dish pit, went to clean it off, and dropped it. It broke in half, ricocheted off the edge of the dish pit, and sliced my hand open.

My first reaction was to swear, run it under the faucet, and ask the hostess who just happened to be in the kitchen to please take chips to table twelve because I hadn't gotten there yet. At that point, I thought I'd still be at work.

One report to the manager, several phone calls, two hours, and four stitches later, I'm home with an enforced break until Thursday night at the earliest and a left hand wrapped in Coban. |D The cut's on the outside of my hand, about an inch long, but it bled like mad. Empanada plates are dangerous things, it seems. Typing will be slow for a while and pictures will be provided to the not squeamish upon request. :D

The blood on my face was spatter, by the way. Evidently I jerked my hand back when I got cut.

...so BEFORE the epic bloody mess that was my work shift today, I was thinking about RP - characters and my time constraints, mostly.

I did have a huge long list of pros and cons and thoughts and dramatic inner monologue, but that was before typing became time consuming and painful. :D So.

Basically, so far as Daisychain goes, I think I'm dropping Silver. I had his journal open for a good while last night and had a terrible time tagging with him, and it's been that way for a while. He's lost most of his CR, and I'm just having hell on wheels keeping him active. It's probably time to let him go. Stella, Guin, i'm sorry - he just didn't stick around for me.

That said, I've been bitten by the app bug and seeing how long it takes me to work up either an Aja Killian muse or a Foxx muse. So far, Foxx is winning, if only because she doesn't require a trip to the library.

On the Paixao front, I'm likely going to do a canon update for Rosette. It'll make her easier to play and give me a reason to jump start the character. Brainbreak always works so well for that. |D

As a final and random note, is anybody good at editing audio? Because I have a non-urgent favor to ask if you're willing. :3

Rewatched some cutscenes tonight. I may well be playing Silver with too much common sense (and yes, this is in light of the whole the TV is radioactive debacle). Need to work on that. Also, having one muse in three places has proven to be the kiss of death more than once. Please convince me NOT to app him in Paixao. Larxene would get him in two seconds flat and then there would be trouble.

Speaking of radioactive TV, I watched a few hours of Mythbusters tonight, and I've noticed that Jamie and Adam get the science-y myths while the Build Team gets to irradiate cockroaches and blow shit up. Guess what team I want to be on.

Four and a half hours into my work shift and nothing has been accomplished. Yes, I do blame you.

Yes, the Sonic comic was fantastic, but reading it and the ensuing time spent poking around on dA was really not helpful to my homeworking needs (namely those two papers that need to be finished by Thursday and Friday, respectively). Now I'm caffeinated (would you believe that's accidental?) and going slightly out of my mind and unable to think straight enough to read or write...and still not getting any work done.

I might just put on the last few videos of that LP, because I need something to calm my brain down. I am just @_@ right now and that's not a good state to write a paper in.

Sooooo I managed to make myself homesick this morning. My mom doesn't want to pay much more than $200 to get me home over Thanksgiving break, but I will gladly pay the extra $150-200 if it'll get me tickets back to Colorado for this break. I need it. I don't just want away from this campus; no offense to everyone who's native here, but I want the hell out of California for a while. Give me high altitude and turkey cooked in beer and Black Friday at the Chapel Hills Mall, please.

I also nearly slept through my first appointment at the writing center. Alarms are screwy.

I should reeeeeeeally be working. I'm not. Need to fix that.

I've had this song on repeat for a while. It might be one of the reasons I'm not working.

This does not, however, excuse you all from my fandom-related blather. This entire fiasco started with a conversation about Sonic games and why hedgehogs (and only hedgehogs) could tap into the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

I made a crack about how they were all related. Going off my penchant for crossing fandoms, I then made a crack about how they were all Petrellis.

( And suddenly it all made sense (this cut is for Heroes spoilers up to last week's episode, by the way) )

The parallels fall off a bit after that, but that was enough to keep both me and my roomie in stitches for a good fifteen minutes.
